Punjab Education Minister 2021

Vijay Inder Singla, a Congress MLA from Sangrur assembly constituency, is the current education minister of Punjab. He was given the charge of the school education department in June 2019.
Before Vijay Inder Singla, OP Soni was the education minister of Punjab. He remained the education minister of Punjab for just over an year, from April 2018 till June 2019.
When Congress party came into power in the state in March 2017, Smt. Aruna Chaudhary was given the charge of the education department. But she remained the minister of school education department for only around an year and this department was handed over to OP Soni.
Vijay Inder Singla represents the Sangrur constituency in the current Punjab Vidhan Sabha. He won the last assembly elections held in 2017 by defeating its nearest opponent Dinesh Bansal of AAP with a margin of 30812 votes.
Earlier he was an M.P. from the Sangrur lok sabha seat. He is a well qualified person and has done B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) in Computer Science from Bangalore.

Vijay Inder Singla - Personal Details

Vijay Inder Singla was born on 1 December 1972 in Ludhiana and his age is 48 years. He is married to Smt. Deepa Singla and has one son & one daughter. His contact number is 09013180244, 8699961111.
He did the matriculation from YPS, Patiala in 1987 and then intermediate from Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in 1989. After that he cleared B.E. in (Computer Science) from Bangalore (Karnataka).
There are four directorates which function under the Punjab Education Department. These directorates are:
  1. Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges)
  2. Directorate of Secondary Education
  3. Directorate of Primary Education
  4. Directorate of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT)

Here it may be important to note that the education department, under the education minister of Punjab, is responsible for the school level education in the state.   • Technical Education and Industrial Training - Charanjit Singh Channi is the minister of this department. He is associated with Congress party and currenty represents the Chamkaur Sahib constituency in Ropar district.

Education Minister of India
